The Ultimate Greece Holiday Packing Guide

Packing for a trip to Greece can be a daunting task, but with a little bit of planning and creativity, you’ll be ready to hit the Aegean in style! Whether you’re exploring the ancient ruins of Athens, lounging on the sandy beaches of Crete, or wandering the picturesque streets of Santorini, this ultimate Greece holiday packing guide will make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable and stylish adventure.

Footwear

First and foremost on my ultimate Greece holiday packing guide are a pair of comfortable shoes.

Greece is home to some of the world’s most beautiful historical sites, including the Acropolis in Athens, and you’ll be doing a lot of walking to take it all in.

Pack a pair of comfortable sneakers or walking shoes that can handle the cobblestone streets and uneven terrain.

I packed my favorite pair of white Sketchers. They’re stylish enough that they can be paired with skirts and dresses, and ultra comfy.

Greece was pretty dry when we went in September, so there was no rain or mud.

Make sure to pack at least one pair of comfortable yet stylish flat shoes.

I opted for these white pair of slides because I knew they would go with all of my outfits, and could be dressed up or down, depending on what I needed.

Although these particular sandals don’t offer any support, I actually didn’t have an issue walking on the cobblestone pathways, which are literally everywhere in Greece.

I also made sure to break in all my shoes before my trip. There’s nothing worse than realizing your shoes are uncomfortable, rub or cause blisters while on vacation.

This one is controversial, but I say pack a cute, comfortable pair of heeled sandals.

You always have to be prepared in case your man decides to take you dancing in the street! Just kidding, but for those nights you aren’t straying too far from your hotel, or are going for a fancy dinner, a pair of heels does come in handy!

The key is a chunky heel that isn’t too high. You don’t want any stiletto heels here with all the uneven cobblestones.

Again, white goes with everything, especially the white and blue aesthetic that Santorini in particular is famous for.

Clothing

Depending on which island you visit in Greece, you may be doing a bit of roadtripping and exploring.

Classic pieces like basic tank tops and denim shorts are quick, easy, and interchangeable, making them perfect to throw on for your next adventure.

My biggest issue is definitely being an over-packer, so I highly recommend preplanning your outfits before your trip. This saved me so much time as well as space in my luggage.

I always recommend you pack two outfits per day: your daytime exploration fit, and your dressier evening fit.

This goes without saying, but a blue dress is an absolute must for capturing those aesthetic Grecian photos.

Light, breathable dresses in particular are perfect for wandering the streets or dining al fresco.

So make sure to pack a few dresses that are easy to dress up or down, and check off that blue dress from your ultimate Greece holiday packing guide.

Make sure to include a couple skirts as well, as they are multifunctional, and can be worn day, night, or even over a swimsuit.

I packed this blue wrap skirt which is actually a beach skirt, but dressed it up for dinner, as well as this casual pink printed skirt which I paired with a white baby tee and sneakers.

I would also recommend packing at least one pair of pants and a light jacket or blazer in case it gets chilly while you’re visiting.

I opted for this pair of flowy trousers, which were still lightweight enough, but also super comfy.

Comfort is key, however thankfully wide leg pants are in, so you can be comfortable and trendy at the same time. Phew.

Pro tip: if you like the style and the fit, purchase it in multiple colors! This is a foolproof way to ensure you are going to like your outfits while on holiday. There’s honestly nothing worse than trying something on you were excited to wear, and realizing you hate it.

No trip to Greece is complete without a dip in the Aegean Sea. Pack a few swimsuits so you can switch up your look while soaking up the sun.

I packed the essentials: a white bikini, a black bikini, a blue bikini, and a patterned bikini. Gotta have options gals!

Accessories

You didn’t think I’d forget about accessories, did you? No ultimate Greece holiday packing guide would be complete without accessories.

Accessories will add a pop of personality to your outfits, whether a it’s a bold pair of sunnies, statement earrings, or a colorful bag.

My go-to accessories I reached for over and over again were these cat eye sunglasses. They’re so flattering on, and instantly made any outfit look more elegant and put together.

A sun hat is also crucial for blocking those harsh Mediterranean rays. I love this one because it’s adjustable and also can be rolled up which makes it perfect for packing. I also packed some fun hoop earrings, a few necklaces, and both a white and blue handbag.

With this ultimate Greece holiday packing guide in hand, and these essentials in your suitcase, you’ll be ready to take on Greece in style and comfort. Whether you’re exploring the ancient ruins, lounging on the beach, or dining al fresco, these pieces will have you feeling confident and looking fabulous. Happy travels girlies! xo
