Cathedral Rock Hike at Sunset in Sedona, AZ
Arizona is known for its sunsets, there is no debating that. A sunset hike in the beautiful Sedona, Arizona though? Breathtaking.
The Cathedral Rock hike at sunset is unlike any other I’ve ever experienced. As opposed to a lot of hiking trails, this one is incredibly easy to find. The hiking trail stems off the parking lot, which your GPS will take you directly to. The hike is around 1.7 miles each way, with an elevation of 750 feet.
The hike begins as a fairly easy upward ascent. The higher you go, the more difficult it becomes and there will be a few times where you will need to use your hands during the climb. This part doesn’t last long, but because of this I would consider this hike to be moderate in difficulty. It took us around 40 minutes to reach the top, where you are greeted by the most incredible view.
We made it to the top just as the sun began peeking around the side of the mountain. This gave us enough time to snaps some photographs, take drone footage, and choose a place to perch and wait.
