Whether you’re a frequent flyer or gearing up for that once-in-a-lifetime adventure, I’m here to help you maximize your luggage space and organization skills. Prepare to impress yourself and anyone lucky enough to catch a glimpse of your suitcase mastery! Without further ado, here are my 5 best packing hacks for fitting absolutely everything! Let’s dive in.
1. Roll your Clothes
Instead of folding your clothes, try rolling them. This was a huge gamechanger for me, I am able to fit way more this way than if I had simply folded my clothes.
In addition, it also helps to reduce wrinkles. There’s nothing more frustrating that arriving at your hotel and unpacking only to find all your outfits are creased and wrinkled.
You can also use packing cubes to keep your rolled clothes in place, which I will get to next.
2. Packing Cubes
If you aren’t already using some form of packing cubes, I highly suggest you make the transition.
They typically come in a set of 6, and I like to use one for my tops and bottoms, one for socks and underwear, and one for swimwear or outerwear.
This ensures I can easily find what I’m looking for without having to rummage around in my suitcase.
3. Travel Roll up Bags
If you want to take it a step further, another great way to save space is by using vacuum bags or roll up bags to compress your clothes and make more room in your suitcase.
This is ideal for trips lasting a week or more, particularly if you’re only planning on bringing a carry-on luggage.
They also protect your clothing from any liquids that could potentially leak during flight. So if you’ve got something expensive or hard to clean, I recommend using these!
4. Wear Your Bulkiest Items
This usually goes without saying, but if possibly try to wear your bulkiest items, whether it be a sweater, jacket, or pair of boots.
This will ensure you save ample space, and will likely make your luggage lighter as well.
5. Pack Dual-purpose Items
I always make it a point to pack multi-functional items when I travel in order to save space.
Whether it be a hair tool that functions as a hairdryer and straightener combo, SPF that doubles as makeup, electronics that serve multiple purposes, or clothing items, it really can make all the difference.
And there you have it! With these 5 simple packing hacks, you’re now equipped to conquer any packing challenge that comes your way. No more struggling with overstuffed suitcases or arriving at your destination only to discover a jumbled mess of clothes and essentials.
Travel should be about enjoying the journey, not wrestling with your luggage! So go forth, put these tips to the test, and see how they transform your travel experience. Safe travels and happy packing!
